This method is mainly used for relatively high volumes and
when the shape to mask is relatively flat or contains flat
areas. Repeatability is achieved as the masks are cut automatically
from a program. This is usually a result of CAD data manipulation.
In certain instances the components to be masked may be scanned
and this information processed to program the laser cutting
equipment. Any adjustment or alteration of masking detail
is easily carried out. This method is often combined with
bending or pressing to obtain the required mask shape.
